"How Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich" was promoted in ads!"

What a big surprise. Look at this ad from 1937. It promotes the book "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill

I did not know that "Think and Grow Rich" was promoted this way. But check out Jan Risberg's blog and see a reprint of an ad that was printed in 1937's December issue of "The Rotarian", the official magazine of Rotary International.

Its headline is: "Why Some Men Grow Rich So Fast". The subhead goes like: "What's the REAL secret of those who make fortunes? Let's toss aside the old "success-story" fairy tales - and the wall-mottoes about "Work Hard" and "Strive and Succeed." They're bunk; and you know it!"

Furthermore, the ad explains "What These 13 Steps to Riches Will Do For You" and offers "FREE Personal Counsel From Napoleon Hill."

The ad is full of amazing lines. It even refers to the meeting of Napoleon Hill with Andrew Carnegie, which was the starting point of the first practical Philosophy of Personal Success and for the predecessor of "Think and Grow Rich".

"One of my Favorite Quotes From Napoleon Hill's 'Think and Grow Rich' - It's About Abundance!"

One sentence by Napoleon Hill from his book "Think and Grow Rich" about abundance warms my heart every time I read it, how about you?

Napoleon Hill is well known for his book "Think and Grow Rich". If you read it you will find that you can take almost every second sentence as an impressing quote. This is because Napoleon Hill had the ability to share his ideas and knowledge in plain, sharp and clear words so that everybody can easily understand and apply them. (Click here and get your free ebook copy of "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill)

In Chapter 1 - Introduction of "Think and Grow Rich", Napoleon Hill writes my favorite sentence, an important suggestion:

"When riches begin to come they come so quickly, in such great abundance, that one wonders where they have been hiding during all those lean years."

Originally, Napoleon Hill has written the entire statement in capital letters to emphasize its importance.

Today, I have found this quote in a fantastic article about abundance, written by Evelyn Lim. When we think and talk about abundance, we usually talk about the abundance of material goods, especially of money.

Evelyn Lim now gives a bit of a twist to abundance. She writes about the abundance of opportunities and ideas. She writes: "Opportunities are available because ideas are abundant." "No Motivation in 'Think and Grow Rich' by Napoleon Hill?"

Believe it or not - In Napoleon Hill's book "Think and Grow Rich" you won't find the vocable "motivation" at all

But fortunately you will find lots of "motivation" in Ricky Cooper's amazing article about Goal Reaching and Motivation. Ricky Cooper's core point is: "(...) to reach (...) goals you must be motivated to do so yourself"

Read Ricky Cooper's great article "Motivation Is Essential For Goal Reaching" here. Click http://health.ezinemark.com/motivation-is-essential-for-goal-reaching-3200aa8f705.html

"Want to Make Money Fast? Some not too serious ways to money!" (What would Napoleon Hill have said?)

It is the question of questions: How to make money fast? Here are some answers how to think and grow rich!

There are many different ways to make money. But when I hear claims like "get rich quick" or "make millions fast" I instantly grab my purse - to protect it. Hoping to make money fast usually means: Losing money fast.

But there are ways to make some quick cash without falling for a scam. Fibo 777 has put together a list of ways how to make money fast. When I read the list for the first time, I wondered what Napoleon Hill ("Think and Grow Rich") click for a free copy) would have said about this list.

In some points it seems a little bit strange. But all tips are lawful, so you may want to consider them in case you need some cash fast.

My Top 3 are:

1. Sell unnecessary stuff
This is a good idea in two respects: You get some quick cash and you get rid of stuff that you don't need to
store, clean, maintain or move anymore.

2. Donate blood
This is one of the quick-money-classics. Donating blood won't make you rich, because you can't donate on     a daily basis. But you get some bucks while helping those who are in need of blood preservation.

3. Sell your hair
Human hair is needed for the production of wigs and for hair extensions. Selling hair is obviously not a
full-time job but can get you some quick cash when you need it. Ask your local barber or search on Google
for contact addresses. Prices are negotiable. Consider $ 0,30 per inch as a rule of thumb. You will win
bargaining power, if you can offer hair of at least 70 inches of length.

"Napoleon Hill's 'Think and Grow Rich' is #1, Because It's a Phenomenon!"

How many self-help books may be out there?

"Literally millions", writes Harold McLeod on suite101.com. And he lists The Top 3 Self-Help Books. It's no big surprise that Napoleon Hill's classic book "Think and Grow Rich" is top of the list. (Click here to get a free copy of "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill instantly.)

Harold McLeod points out: "Since its original publishing in 1937, the book has managed to inspire more people than almost any other book ever written. Any first-time reader will find that the book is very much still relevant to today's world, and incredibly helpful in learning to plot ones course in life."

That could not be more true or said in more beautiful words. But which books are #2 and #3? It's "The Power of Less" by Leo Babauta and "The Science of Success" by Wallace D. Wattles. "Inspirational quotes are the oxygen that has breathed fresh invigoration into my life throughout the years.", says Peter G. James Sinclair. He is "in the 'heart to heart' resuscitation business to inspire, motivate and equip" his readers to be all they've been created to be.

Mr. Sinclair has put together 8 motivational quotes about life. That's no big deal, you think? Everybody and his dog puts together some quotes on their website? Yes, you may be right. But Peter G. James Sinclair makes a big difference.

He
does not only share "the most inspirational quotes ever uttered" but also comments each and every quote in a very personal way. This is very inspiring in itself.

"You Don't Need to be Rich to be an Entrepreneur!", says Martin Zwilling

Does that sound surprising?  I always thought that entrepreneurs start off poor and grow rich when they become successful

But things are different, if setting up the business, facilities and staff, technology, sales & marketing, manufacturing and wages & benefits require smaller or bigger investments.

In his very valuable article, Martin Zwilling gives a brief overview of different startup costs. He does not just list up different types of costs, but puts a figure on them, too.

"14 Tenets of the Get Rich Slow Philosophy"

What do you think about research and experience on getting rich? May be a sound way to generate reliable results?

I will always listen to experienced people who have done solid research on a particular topic. J. D. Roth is experienced and has done a lot of research on the Get Rich Slowly Philosophy.

Get Rich Slowly is a very inspiring money blog. You will find there valuable information about personal finance and related topics, e.g. debt elimination, saving and investing money. But fortunately, you won't find there any Get-Rich-Quick-Schemes or sales pitches.

If I had only one article to recommend on Get Rich Slowly, it would be The Get Rich Slowly Philosophy. J. D. Roth has listed 14 guidelines on Getting Rich, based on his years of research and experience. Read it here, click: http://www.getrichslowly.org/blog/2010/04/15/the-get-rich-slowly-philosophy/

P.S.: One of the most interesting book reviews on GetRichSlowly.org in my view is "50 Success Classics" by Tom Butler-Bowdon. It is a digest of the 50 most important success books, including "The One Minute Manager" by Kenneth H. Blanchard and Spencer Johnson, "The Richest Man in Babylon" by George S. Clason, "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen R. Covey, "The Way to Wealth" by Benjamin Franklin, "How to Be Rich" by J. Paul Getty, "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill (click here for free full text ebook copy), "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" by Robert T. Kiyosaki, "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu, "See You at the Top" by Zig Ziglar and 41 more great success books.

"29 Great Motivational Quotes"

Do you like motivational quotes, too?

I like motivational quotes. Especially, when the going gets tough, some good inspiring words can lift me up again, can make me laugh and walk on.

Check out this collection of 29 motivational quotes by Albert Schweitzer, Margaret Thatcher, Calvin Coolidge, Winston Churchill, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Thomas A. Edison, Norman Vincent Peale, Aristotle, Napoleon Hill and many others. (The Napoleon Hill quote is not from "Think and Grow Rich", Napoleon Hill's most famous book, but in the book is a very similar one)

You'll find the quotes here. Click http://getouttheboxinspiration.wordpress.com/2011/02/12/motivational-quotes-to-get-you-moving-this-saturday/

"The starting point of all achievement is DESIRE. Keep this constantly in mind.
Weak desires bring weak results, just as a small amount of fire makes a small amount of heat."

"How to Get Rich on The Great Rotation"

What is The Great Rotation and What are the 10 Ways to Get Rich On It?

Do you know the golden rule when it comes to investing money? It's simple: Do solid research before you invest a single Dollar and always decide yourself when and where to invest.

With this in mind, I would like to emphasize an interesting article on the so-called Great Rotation.
The Great Rotation is the simple fact that many of the derided assets of 2010 are growing strong in 2011 and vice versa. For example.European equities, especially Greece equities and global financial stocks.have outperformed in 2011 while 2010's darlings, like gold, small cap stocks and emerging markets have, underperformed in 2011.

In his article, Gregory White points out some trades which are to follow this trend. And he warns to stay out of specific markets. Read his eye-opening article here: Click http://www.businessinsider.com/the-great-rotation-2011-2?slop=1

P.S.: In his famous book "Think and Grow Rich", Napoleon Hill tells the story of a special investment. A young drug clerk invests $ 500.- and buys a large, old fashioned kettle, a wooden stirring-paddle and a small slip of paper on which was written a secret formula.

This investment can just like that be considered the investment of a lifetime. The kettle and the secret formula made his new owner very, very rich. And it's a true story. Read the full story in your free copy of Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich" (Chapter 6).

Video: Abraham-Hicks "68 Seconds of Pure Thought"

5 Minutes in Your Life. This video contains very helpful thoughts - plain and simple.

Napoleon Hill has written about the power of thoughts in "Think and Grow Rich" (click for a free copy). That's why I am not a complete novice to the utilization of thoughts. But this video has added new and important aspects to my understanding of the Law of Attraction.

I knew I had heard the name Hicks before, but I could not figure it out. But after a little research on the Abraham-Hicks homepage I remembered: Esther Hicks was part of the Law-of-Attraction-Project "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne.

Frankly, I do not understand every claim in this video, especially the multiplication-of-energy-maths. But watch yourself. It is a cute little video on the Law of Attraction and is worthwhile watching just because of the sound and useful piece of advice, Esther Hicks gives to the viewer: She says: "Don't visualize to make something happen. Visualize for the pleasure of visualizing." (4:10)

"3 Secrets to Avoiding a Real Job"

A quick little interview with self-taught serial entrepreneur Scott Gerber led by David Wilson

This is a must read for every serious entrepreneur. The article is brief, yet contains very useful information. O.K, it is a promotional interview article for Scott Gerber's new book "Never Get a Real Job" but nevertheless it is a great read.

Napoleon Hill ("Think and Grow Rich")  would have liked Scott Gerber's approach, I am sure. Because Scott Gerber does not promote the Hollywood-Like-Success-Story. His mantra is pounding the pavement, simplicity and keeping the money together.

"Think and Grow Poor" instead of "Think and Grow Rich"?

What would Napoleon Hill (author of "Think and Grow Rich) say about Greg McMahon's video?

I was stunned, when I read the headline: "Think & Grow Poor In "MLM" & "Network Marketing", because I love Napoleon Hill's book "Think and Grow Rich". And I am convinced that Napoleon Hill's success principles do work. Whether in MLM, in Network Marketing or in any other business.

But when I saw the video, I understood why Greg McMahon had chosen this headline. His point is that thinking alone makes nobody rich. It is taking action that makes the difference. It is speed and momentum that separates winners from losers.

Whatever your business is

Napoleon Hill's "Law of Success in Sixteen Lessons" and the Power of the Mastermind Group

Great Ezine-Article by Mark West on Napoleon Hill's "The Law of Success in Sixteen Lessons"

The most famous book by Napoleon Hill is, without a doubt, "Think and Grow Rich". Only a few know, that this great philosophy of personal success has an important predecessor: "The Law of Success in Sixteen Lessons".

Napoleon Hill published this book in 1928. It was the outcome of Andrew Carnegie's mission 20 years earlier. Andrew Carnegie had commissioned Napoleon Hill with writing the first practical philosophy of personal success - without compensation.

Mark West's interesting article gives a good overview of this book. He stresses the importance of a mastermind group. Napoleon Hill has always encouraged his students to support each others in mastermind groups. Nevertheless this fact is often neglected. Read Mark West's article here:
